Nuit Blanche Toronto 2011 A flower seller was instructed to discreetly distribute nearly 1,000 yellow roses to people who were walking by themselves the night of October 1, 2011 on Queen street West from Bathurst to University in Toronto. Yellow roses symbolize friendship and never romance. Just by changing the colour of the rose, a normal sight in an urban area will be turned upside down. In other words, one will usually see a man walk into romantic restaurants and offer red roses at a price to couples. The performance was about giving attention to those who do not receive any in public. The project was over when all of the flowers were distributed. This event was free.
